CREW REFUSE TO WORK

• Union Company's steamer Kaiapoi IS .r! }. U P at Napier owing to trouble with the crew. The vessel completed discharge of cargo from Bluff late on Wednesday night, and was ready to sail for Auckland, but one lireman was missmg.
Yesterday morning another man presented himself for the position and was engaged, but in the meantime the missing man came back. Then another man disappeared. When the latter was found the fireman who was missing last ni<*ht had again disappeared, and lie has not been seen since. Another man presented himself for the job yesterday afternoon, but after going on board declined ment. c °
The position last night was that one fireman was missing and the remainder of the crew refused to take the Kaiapoi to sea until lie reappeared.
