MUNICIPAL MUSIC.
A lot of correspondence has appeared on the above subject, but with it all the Information of most interest has yet to be seen in i . wnt ® openly in seeking information importance to ratepayers, and the subject matter should not necessitate working under a nomde plume, as many of the writers are dorng. Ido not claim that either or both sections of municipal music should be dispensed with, but rather that all the facts of receipts and expenditure should be ventilated. Will any participant in the controversy please supply m concise form over a period of twelve months in terms of £ s d the actual proved expenditure and receipts relative to the band section of municipal music? Most of the destructive criticism levelled at the organ and choir is based on the economic side of the question, and for this reason I think we should s?* * little bit more about the expenditure side of the band section. A. PETERS.
