In pursuance of the Licensing Act, 1908, and the Amendments thereto, I, HERBERT JOHN COPPING, Returning Officer for the EDEN Licensing District, do hereby give J®tice that on the 14th day of November, 1928, the day appointed for taking the Electoral Poll for the Electoral District of Eden, simultaneously therewith a LICENSING POLL will be taken upon the following proposals:— LOCAL RESTORATION. Nominations of persons to appoint Scrutineers in accordance with the Licensing Act, 1908, and the Amendments thereto, in respect of each of the said proposals must be lodged with me not later than five o'clock in the afternoon of the Seventh Day of November, 1928. And I hereby give notice that I shall, on the Tenth Day of November, 1928, at the hour of 10 o'clock in the forenoon, at my Office in 7, Law Court Buildings, High Street, publicly consider all Nomination Papers of persons to appoint Scrutineers which have been duly lodged in respect of the Licensing Poll for the Ljcensing District and in respect of the National Licensing Poll. By Order-in-Conncil, made and issued by his Excellency the Governor-General in Council on the 10th day of October, 1928, under the authority of the above Act, it was determined that the duty by way of land-tax leviable under the said Act should be paid in one sum on WEDNESDAY, the 7th day of November. 1928, at the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, Government Buildings, Wellington; and, in accordance with such Order-in-Conncil, I hereby give notice that the said duty will be payable accordingly. Additional tax will accrue if the tax is not paid on or before 28th November. 1928. The liability to pay is not suspended by any objection. The tax should be paid on or before the prescribed date, otherwise the additional percentage accrues; any overpayment will be adjusted by refund. The demands will be posted from the office of the Commissioner of Taxes on or about 31st October. 1928.
