MAN'S LENGTHY LIST.
"A confirmed drunkard and halfimbecile," was Chief Detective Hammond's description of Alfred Ogier, who appeared at the Police Court this morning before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., on three charges of theft. The charges related to the theft of a lady's fur valued at £8 8/, another fur valued at £5 and a watch valued at £6 6/. Accused pleaded guilty. A list produced by the Chief Detective showed that Ogier had been before the Court "all his life." He was last charged in 1924. 6
Mr. Hunt: Where has he been since? Mr. Hammond said the man had been at work in the country and had been fairly steady until coming to town recently.
Accused, from the dock, said lie had work that he could go to. In sentencing him to one month's imprisonment the magistrate said he had also broken his probation license.
