"TOO MUCH TRAVELLING."

NEW ZEALAND CHILDREN.

CRICKET TEAMS AND TEACHERS.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday.

The council of the New Zealand Cricket Association considered a letter from the Southland Association, which said it had had trouble with the Southland Education Board last season over the travelling of primary school teams.

It appeared unfair, the association said, that a teacher who gave freely of his own time to foster school cricket should have his salary "docked"" for travelling with the team. The association asked the council to investigate the matter with the. Department in Wellington.

I It was decided to ask the association to make more inquiries itself, and that the council should take no action at present.

? "There is ' too much travelling of youngsters in New Zealand," remarked the chairman, Mr. D. Reese.
