Having spent three daysin Auckland,the United party leader,, the Et. ' Hon.. Sir Joseph Ward,, will leave for Wellington on the Limited express to-night. A large gathering of old friends and active supporters ,of . the new party have; arranged to give him a heartening- farewell at the railway station.

The itinerary of the United leader hats'! not been announced, hut it is probable that he will not spend long in Wellington, since South 'Island people are anxious to hear the veteran campaigner enunciate the United party's platform. It is expected that Sir Joseph will speak in Christchurch, -where he has manyfriends, before going further south.
