THREAT TO RESIGN.

COMMITTEE WITHOUT FUNDS.

(Bf Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

DARGAVILLE, Wednesday.

The Dargaville School Committee has advised the Education Board that unless the board is prepared to make substantial increases in the grants made for maintenance the committee will resign in a body. The secretary reported that the quarterly grants made by the board were not sufficient to pay the cleaning expenses of the three schools under the jurisdiction of the committee.

It was pointed out that the public of Dargaville had been most liberal in their donations to the school funds and had during the past few years subscribed nearly £1000 in cash, in addition to •»ifts of sports material and prizes.
