Kemball, a daughter of Sir Andrew Russell, and wife of LieutenantCommander Kemball, R.N., returned to Wellington from England .by the Ruahine. • * • The great-great-granddaughter of Captain Cook, the great navigator, is, it is believed, living in Ontario. Her name is Miss M. A. Cook. She has now nearly completed investigations which should prove her descent. • • • * Dr. C. H. King and his wife, Dr. Janette King (Dunedin), travelled to England by the Port Curtis, via Cape Horn. They expect to spend a year or 18 months in England and on the Continent. Dr. King intends to do medical post-graduate work during his stay in Europe. w » * » The Duchess of York has had a new honour conferred upon her. She has been admitted to -±he Ancient Guildry of Sterling, an incorporation of merchants ■which stretches back beyond the twelfth century.
