HOSPITAL DISPUTE SETTLED.
X-RAY PLANT FOR OPOTIKI. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) OPOTIKI, this day. Trouble between the Opotiki Hospital Board and Dr. Valintine (DirectorGeneral of Health) over the installation of X-rays at the Public Hospital has now been amicably settled, as the result of an interview at Wellington between Dr. Valintine and members of the hoard. The X-ray plant at present at the hospital will be installed, with the exception of a table costing £300, which must be returned to the makers. The secretary of the board stated that the Director-General had diverted £416, which should have gone towards what was owing on the X-ray plant, costing £900, instead of £500. He was doubtful if the Loans Board would allow the board to borrow that amount. Advice had, however, been received from the Public Trustee to the effect that a loan of £500 for additions to the hospital had been granted.
