WRECKED SCHOONER.
| MAINMAST WASHED UP. LONG DRIFT SOUTHWARD. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, this day. A resident on the West Coast on Saturday discovered a quantity of wreckage on the beach within a quarter of a mile of Chases Gorge. It is surmised that this is a part of the illfated Isabella de Frame and that it has drifted about 7-"> miles south of the Hokiauga bar, where the schooner capsized. Apparently the mainsail was furled along the main boom when the vessel struck. The wreckage comprises about 30ft of the main boom, including the jaws, which are intact. A quantity of torn canvas, ropes and tackle is all that is left of the mainsail. A portion of the deck, about Oft in length, has been pulled out and is attached by tackle to the wreckage. A little further along the beach is another 12ft section of the main boom. The whole of the wreckage is in a fresh condition, snowing little sign of the battering of the waves. The ordinary set of the tide along the West Coast is to the north, but apparently the strong westerly gales of last week have altered the set of the current.
