AKARANA YACHT CLUB DANCE.
A delightful evening's amusement was the dance given on Saturday by the president and members of the committee of the Akarana Yacht Club at their clubhouse, Mechanics Bay. Great efforts had been made to give the dance a pretty setting, and the whole roof was decorated with coloured streamers and flags, arranged to give the flag of the yachts in their colours red, white and blue. The ballroom also had floodlights, and the supper was a study in the same three club shades, with flowers and streamers used to give the effect. There were about four hundred present, and during the evening the prizes won during the season were presented.
