PURCHASED FOR £5000.
NELSON STREET SCHOOL FOR BENEFIT OF CHILDREN. STREET COLLECTION AND SAVINGS BANK GIFT. Nelson Street school will be retained for the children. This afternoon, when it was offered for sale by auction at the rooms of Messrs. C. F. Bennett, Ltd., it was knocked down to Mrs. N. E. Ferner, representing the Community Sunshine Association, for £5000. With this body is incorporated the Play and r.;"-reation Association, which originally put forward the scheme of using the building as a children's community club. A portion of the purchase money was collected in the streets recently, while an additional sum was donated by the Auckland Savinirs Bank.
