Japanese and German competition waa etill a feature with some French support and sparing purchases of superior sorts from America. Good fleece and skirtings sold readily. Greasy Merino fleece sold to 23d, threequarters and comebacks 2iYtd. MELBOURNE HIDES SALES. MELBOURNE, August 23. At the Melbourne hides sales to-day there was keen competition.
