CAR AND CYCLE COIUDE. CLAIM FOR DAMAGES. An action was heard at the Magi»« trate's Court to-day by Mr. F. H. S.M., in which a claim was made to recover £64 10/ damages on account ol a collision which occurred between 4 motor car returning from a funeral, anj a motor cycle. The plaintiff was Ernest Gilbert Shreeve, of Blockhouse Bay (Mr, J. F. W. Dickson), and there were three defendants, Mrs. M. Taylor, owner of thi car; Robert Gray don, the driver, and A. Holmes, undertaker, who was riding in the car. Mr. Coates appeared fen* thq defence. The claim was for £12 for iltniigM to the motor cycle, £27 for five weeks* wages, and £25 general damages. Plaintiff gave evidence, and said lis was going about 15 miles an hour aft the time of the accident. Mr. Coates: My witnesses will stati you were going 55 miles an hour. Plaintiff stated he had only got thi motor cycle on the day of the accident He had ridden motor cycles in the 01$ Country. In answer to Mr. Coates, plaintiff sail he had no license at the time of the accident, as he had only just got thi machine. He denied that he had ever a constable that his brakes were defeo* tive. He got 30/ a week from a side and accident fund for t.lip five weeks he vii away from work. There were a number of witnesses on each side. The defence is that plaintiff was on his wrong side, and that he wii travelling at an excessive speed.
