GARRISON HALL IMPROVES. DISPLAY OF LIGHTING. (Isy Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) PAPAROA, this day. 'I he Garrison Hall was brilliantly illuminated last night on the occasion of a demonstration of the electric lighting system installed by Mr. Thomas, picture proprietor, under contract to the Otamatea County Council, which has secured the building under lease from the Defence Department. The plant effectually illuminates the auditorium, dressing rooms, piano and stage, and there is provision for footlights and for parking lights for the grounds and road. ' The hail has been t'urthor improved by the addition of an inside porch, ticketbox and picture l ; o i room. The lighting system is «so arranged that it can be l.i.kcd wuh the electric power lines in the event <>: ...Uension of hydroelectric power to th* North. The councn has mad* extensive improvements since taking over tin hall in 1923. The nominal rental eharg> 1 by the Defence Department and the whole of the profits from the use of the hall are now devoted to improvements.
