PUKEKOHE COURT.
Mr. F. H. Levlen, S.M., presided at yesterday's sitting of the Pukekohe Court. Phillip Osmond Banahan was lined £2 and 10/ costs for driving a motor car through Pokeno township on June 30 at a speed of 35 miles an hour.
On a charge of driving a motor vehicle without efficient brakes, Arthur Alfred Welch, of Whatawhata, was convicted, and ordered to pay 12/ costs, and on a charge of dangerous driving he was lined £3 and costs £2. It was stated In evidence that defendant was driving a lorry laden with metal towards Bombay, when he descended a bill at a weed of from 35 to 40 miles an hour, and ran Into a mob of cattle, knocking over three head. Defendant admitted his brakes were defective. He said he was un*J>le to see the cattle owing to an obstruction, until he was within fifteen yards «C them.
