GREAT SOUTH ROAD.
QUESTION OF STOCK ROUTE. PROVIDING FOR THE FUTURE. Considerable discussion took place at a meeting of the Great South Koad Beautifying Council last evening on the question of providing stock route between Papakura and Otahuhu other than the Great South Road. It was stated that although at present there was opposition to the scheme it was inevitable that a separate stock route should be provided. There was only one artery through to Papakura, and it seemed absurd that all trafiie should be concentrated oil it. On the motion of Mr. .T. TV.ik it was decided to send a letter to the Minister of Public Works pointing out that it was absolutely essential that a route for stock should be declared other than the Great South TJoatl, and to urge Mr. J. S. Dickson. M.P., to support the stock route proposal.
