WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.

WILSON—SHORT. The marriage of Thelma Isobel, third daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. Short, and Theo, only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Wil&on, of Hillside Orescent, Mount Eden, took place at St. Matthew's Church last evening. Canon Grant Cowen officiated. The bride, who was given away by Mr. P. McDonald, wore an ivory georgette, with a deep silver lace underdress, the skirt was draped, and formed an uneven hem at the back. Two rows of rhinestones were worn at the waist line, and fastened with jewelled buckles. Her billowy tulle veil was caught with a chaplet and three strands of orange blossom buds, and fell to form a train. The shower bouquet was of white roses, snowdrops, cyclamens, and pink stocks. Misses Margaret Short (sister of the bride) and Valerie Wilson, who were bridesmaids, ware frocks of orchid mauve and jade green silk crepe de chine. The former had a lame bodice, and both had 3 floun-ces on the skirt, with hip bows of tulle, and a diamante buckle. Tulle headdresses matched their gowns. Mauve and pink and shades of apricot were the two beautiful shower bouquets. The best man was Mr. R. Hanson. The wedding supper waK lield at the home of the bride's cousin. Mrs. E. Suchting Richmond Road, where she heceived the large number of guests, wearing an oyster grey georgette, inset with ceil blue brocaded chenille. The hat was of pastel ciro canvas straw, and had a spray of flower a and velvet ribbon.

THOMPSON—LEE. The wedding took place this afternoon at the Methodist Church, Remuera, of Miss Ailsa Macpherson Lee, only daughter of Mr. and Mms. Percy G. Lee, of Alfred Road, Remuera, who became the wife of Mr. Arthur Ballard Thompson, third son of Mrs. F. A. Thompson, of Heine Bay. The bride, who war? given away by her father, wore a frock of white couple satin, made in midVictorian fashion. The bodice was tightfitting, with long sleeves coming to a point, and had full bouffant skirt, with

small hunches of orange blossom and pearls. The Brussels lace veil, which was bordered with sprays of flowers, fell in a graceful cascade to form a train, and had a narrow wreath of orange blossom buds round the head. The bride carried a beautiful shower bouquet of white hyacinths, roses and touches of pink sweetpeas. The bridesmaid, Mise Winnie E. McMickle, wore a graceful frock of Alice blue georgette, trimmed with silver lace and rosebuds. The bandeau of tulle and silver matched the gown, and she carried a shower bouquet of blue delphiniums and pink carnations. The best man was Mr. E. W. P. Massey. Dr. Laws, who is an old friend of the family, performed the ceremony. The wedding tea was held at the bride's residence, the lounge and drawing room being decorated in irises, delphiniums and daffodils. The bride's mother received the numerous gueafcs in mushroom wool crepe fleairi, appliqued with pastel shades of flowers. Hat to tone.
