N.Z. DEAD HEAT IX SPRINT. SYDNEY, August 12. At the Canterbury Park Meeting yesterday a feature of the day's sport was a dead heat. In which two New Zealand horses played the leading parts. The following are the particulars:— FLYING HANDICAP, of 200sovs. Six furlongs. FIRST ACRE, br g, 6yrs, by Acre — Oka (Messrs. A. Trevor and A. D. Webster), 8.10 * PRINCE HUMPHREY, b g, 3yrs, by Duke Humphrey—Shepherd Princess, (Mr. C. G. Maclndoe), 8.0 * MARKET DAY, br g, 6yra (Mr. W. H. Day), 7.10 3 •Dead heat for first. Twelve started. In an exciting finish between First Acre and Prince Humphrey the New Zealand pair dashed past the post level, and- the judge declared a dead-heat. Market Day, who finished third, was four lengths away. Time, 1.15 i.
