STRANGE FISH.
UNIDENTIFIED SPECIMENS.
CAUGHT IN TRAWLER'S NET.
One of Sanford's trawlers back in port from the West Coast has brought two queer fish, which, up to the present, have not been identified.
One i? a small red fish like a miniature swordfish, which was found inside a barracouta. The other is believed to be a new species of shark. It is about three feet long with a strangely shaped head. The jaws resemble a parrot's beak trhea seen in profile. On the underside of the body near the tail there are a number of suckers.
The fish are to be examined bv the museum authorities.
