OVERSEAS SPORT.

TAME CRICKET TEST.

England's Easy Win Over West Indies. FREEMAN'S GOOD RECORD. (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) (Received 11.30 a.m.) LOXDOX, July 24. Play in the cricket Test match was dull and slow on an easy wicket. The West Indies, in their second innings, made 115 (S. T. Hill 38). Freeman took five wickets for 39 runs, and White three for 41. England won by an innings and 30 runs. The "Daily Xews" cricket correspondent describes the finish of the Test as the tamest for many years. He says the West Indies have much to learn before they can justify their new rank. With six wickets in hand and requiring seventy-four to necessitate a second English innings they petered out unimpressively. Constantine was twice dropped. Freeman's figures to-day were:—Nine overs, fourteen runs, three wickets. His match figures were ten wickets for 93 runs. Freeman has taken 192 wickets for the season.
