FREAK CAR.
SOMERSAULT TEST MADE. LONDON, July 20. "I think I had better drive in it," said the Secretary for the Dominions (Mr. Amery) after seeing a 20/60 horsepower motor car take a double somersault down a steep bank at the Luton (Beds) motor works during what was designed to be a severe test to demonstrate the suitability of the car for overseas conditions. The. chauffeur started the engine at the foot of a densely grassed and shrubbed hill. It moved through the "Tass, bumped over obstacles, and jumped the first embankment. The chauffeur left the car at the edpre of the second embankment, down which mechanics tipped the vehicle. It landed on its own wheels, after the double-somer-sault, breaking the wind-screen, wrecking the footboard and damaging the mudguards. The car was otherwise unscathed.
