VALACIA FOR AUSTRALIA. Having completed discharge of her general cargo from Liverpool, "the Cunard steamer Valacia left Dunedin this morning for Port Kembla. After bunkering there, she is to load wheat at West Australian ports for South Africa. RARAWA RUNNING LATE. The Northern Company advises that the Rarawa's departure from New Plvmouth has been delayed. She will not leave until this evening, arriving at Onehunga tomorrow morning, instead of this morning. OMANA SAILED. To put. out the balance of her cargo of coal and hardwood from Newcastle and Port Stephens, the Lamb steamer Omana was dispatched yesterday afternoon for Gisborne. Thence she is to return to Auckland fo load timber for Australia, completing at Hokianga and Dargaville. REMUERA CLEARED BALBOA. En route from oLndon and Southampton to Wellington, the New Zeaalnd Shipping Co.'s steamer Remuera is reported to have cleared Balboa on Monday. She is due at Wellington on August 11 to land passengers, mails and part caa>-go. and is to come to Auckland about a week later. ULIMAROA AT WELLINGTON. An arrival at Wellington yesterday morning was the Huddart-Parker steamer Llimaroa, with passengers. mails ind cargo from Sydney. Auckland passengers arrived by this morning's express. The Ulimaroa is to leave Wellington on Friday, and is due at Sydney the following Tuesday. AORANGI AND NIAGARA. Leaving Sydney to-morrow, the R.M.m.s. .oiangi is due at Auckland on Monday morning. She is announced to resume her voyage to Suva. Honolulu and Vancouver! at 11 a.m. the following day. The R.M.s. Niagara was 'to leave Vancouver to-day for Honolulu, Suva, Auckland and Sydney. She Is due at Auckland on August 13. resuming her Toyak« to Sydney the same evening.

The Union Co.'s steamer Kanna,. whicn was loading at Greymouth and Auckland, was diverted to Wellington. She was to leave Greymouth at 4 p.m. yesterday. KAIWARRA FOR NEWCASTLE. Having completed her overhaul, the Union Co.'s steamer Kaiwarra was to nndock early this afternoon. She is to sail at noon to-mor-row for Newcastle. Capt. Hender, formerly of the Kawatiri, is in command. ARGENTINIAN" TRAINING SHIP. The Argentinian training ship President© Sarmiento arrived at Wellington yesterday. After a few days at Wellington she is to sail for Tahiti, without calling at Auckland. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE. The following vessels are expected to be within range of the Auckland wireless station to-night :—Tofua, Nirvana, Elveric, VVaiotapu. Hauraki. Maui Poraare, Kirotss, Sierra, Waipahi, Golden Forest. ELVERIC FROM JAVA. To the agency of Robt. Millar and Co., the Weir Line steamer Elveric is due at Auckland at midnight to-morrow, with a full cargo of raw sugar from Newcastle. She is to berth to-morrow morning at Chelsea. WAIPAHI SAILS 3 P.M. To load fruit for Auckland, the Union Co.'s steamer Waipahi is to sail at 3 p.m. to-day for Rarotonga. Aikutaki and Mangaia. She is expected to return about August 14. SCALARIA ARRIVED. This morning's heavy fog delayed the ar- ■ rival of the tanker Scalaria, as she was forced to anchor in Rangitoto Channel until it lifted. Later she came into port and berthed at the Western wharf to complete discharge of her cargo of motor spirit from San Pedro. WARSHIPS AT WELLINGTON. From Sydney, the Japanese cruisers Yakumo and Idzumo arrived at Wellington this morning. Thence they are to come to Auckland, being due here at 9 a.m. on Tuesday nest. During their stay in Auckland they are to lie at the eastern side of Queen's wharf. WILLESDEN AT BLUFF. With a full cargo of guano from the Seychelles Island, the steamer Willesden; is reported fo have arrived at Bluff yesterday morning. Her future movements havej not yet been announced. The Finnish fourmasted barque Olivebank is also en route! from the Seychelles to New Zealand. j THE MAUI POMARE. Having left Auckland on Monday night, the Government motor ship Maui Pomare is due at Norfolk Island to-day. She is scheduled to return to Auckland on Sunday next to sail the following day for Niue and Apia to load fruit for Dunedin, Lyttelton. Wellington and Auckland. (Spedding, Ltd., agents.) PAKEHA REPORTS. To the agency of L. D. Nathan, Ltd.. the Shaw. Savill and Albion steamer Pakeha expects to reach Auckland next Monday afternoon, according to her wireless report. She has general cargo from West of England ports for discharge here and at Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. After discharge the vessel will load in the south and then return to Auckland to fill up with cargo for New York, Boston, London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow. She is scheduled to return to Auckland on September 14, and to sail for New York four days later. O. AND O. LINE. Henderson and Macfarlane, Ltd., adriee that the Oceanic and Oriental Navigation Company' 6 steamer Golden Forest isscheduled to reach Auckland from Los Angeles next Sunday. The vessel is bringing lumber, case oil and general merchandise from Pacific Coast ports for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Timaru and Dunedin. The company's steamer Golden - Harvest, also from Pacific Coast, is scheduled to clear Los Angeles next Monday for Auckland. Wellington and Lyttelton. She is to be followed from Los Angeles by the Golden State on August 30 for Auckland, Wellington and Dunedln, and the Golden Coast on September 29 for Auckland, Wellington, Nelson and Lyttelton. OBITUARY From Timaru is reported the death of Mr. C. F. Ronalds, chief engineer in the service of the Union Company, and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Marine and Power Engineers. Mr- Ronald's first service with the company was in 1801, when he joined the service as junior engineer of the Monowai. In 1905 he received his first appointment as chief engineer of the Poherua, and from that date onwards served in a similar capacity in many of the vessels of the fleet. In 1904 Mr. Ronalds, for saving the lives of several of the crew of the Monowai on the occasion of an accident caused through the escape of ammonia in the freezing chamber, was presented with the gold medal of the Royal Humane S'ociety. the Honorary Clarke Medal, and the Emblem of the Institute of Marine and Power Engineers, which is the highest honour that can be bestowed upon any member of the Institute. Mr. Ronalds was a gentleman of very kindly and genial disposition and will be greatly missed by all those with whom he came in contact. PORT OF ONEHUNGA. A RRIVA LS.—YESTERDAY.
