HAMILTON STOCK SALE.
GOOD QUALITY BEEF. SHEEP PRICES HOLD. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report ha.ving held their usual weekly stoek sale at Frankton saleyards on Tuesday. 24th July, as under:— There was a fairly large entry of beef, the major portion being good to prime. Choice heavy young cows and heifers made up to £11 7/: medium weight ditto, £7 15/9 to £9; light heifers, £5 to £75/; runners, up to £4; realers, 37/ to 63/. A fair yarding of store cattle met with good competition at the undermentioned rates: —One pen Shorthorn threeyear steers, £6 17/; one pen Holstein three-year steers, £6 7/; one pen Shorthorn steers, £6 2/; one pen store condition four-year bullocks, £6 15/'; 29 Polled Angus heifers in calf to P.A. bull, £7; five aged P.A. cows, £4 2/6; store cows, to £3 15/; one pen Jersey cross yearling heifers, £2 18/. There was a moderate yarding of fat sheep. Prices were on a par with last week's rates. Heavy wethers up to 43/; light wethers, 3/9 to 34/3; store wethers. 30/ to 32/6; medium weight fat ewes, 28/; one pen shorn M.S. hoggets, 21/6; 70 4 and 6-tooth wethers, 32/6; 60 mixed aged ewes in lamb to Southdown rams, 30/; 27 4, 6 and 8-tooth ewes in lamb to Southdown rams, 31/; 79 cull ewes in lamb. 13/6; 48 4, 6 and 8-tooth ewes in lamb, 25/. Pigs sold at late rates.
