CONDITIONS AT TE AROHA.
EARGE AREA UNDER WATER. THROUGH TRAFFIC SUSPENDED. (By Telegraph. —Own Correspondent.) TE AROHA, this day. The rain which had been falling almost incessantly for four days, ceased last night. In the 24 hours which ended at 9 a.m. to-day 4.30 inches of rain fell, making the total 12J inches for three days. Owing to a large area of the country being under water, it is impossible to ascertain the full extent of the damage done. Several serious washouts have occurred on the railway line between Te Aroha and Paeroa. Mails for the eastern areas are held up in Te Aroha. All through traffic to Paeroa is suspended. The weather conditions this morning were improving.
