PAEROA ROAD FLOODED.
OHIXEMURI RIVER HIGH. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) PAEROA, this day. Heavy rain fell in Paeroa yesterday and last night, and the rainfall in 24 hours amounts to 4.3 in. The Paeroa-WaDii main road is flooded to a depth of several feet near the borough boundary. There is no motor traffic between Paeroa and Te Aroha on account of the flood at Waitoki. The Ohinemuri River is running high, and there is a big flood at the place where it joins with the Waihou River at Te Puke. The Ngahina wharf is under water, but the manure and cement in the shed were stacked safely above flood level. Low-lying portions of the countryside are inundated, but so far no damage has been reported. The rain has eased a little, and a wind is blowing from the south-east.
