PORT BOWEN DISCHARGING. BORDERER SAILED. To-day's arrivals included the Port Bowen, with passengers as well as cargo, from New York. The only other overseas vessel that was due to-day, the tanker Scalaria, from San Pedro via Wellington, now reports that she will not arrive until early to-morrow morning. Bringing raw sugar from Java, the steamer Elveric now expects to arrive at midnight to-morrow night.

The steamer Borderer and the motorship Port Huon, which have been discharging general cargo from New York and London respectively, were both dispatched for Wellington this morning, while the Lamb steamer Omana is to sail for Gisborne later in the day.

To complete discharge of her general eargo from Nen York, the A. and A. Line's chartered steamer Borderer sailed this morning for Wellington, i.ytieltou, and Dunedin. RADIO FROM ELVERIC. A radio from the Weir r.ine steamer Elvcric, en route from Java with raw sugar, states that she expects to reach Auckland at midnight to-morrow. She is to berth at Chelsea on Thursday morning to discharge the whole of her cargo. (Kobt. Millar and Co., agents). TARANAKI TO LOAD. At present discharging London cargo in the South, the Shaw, Savill and Albion motor ship Taranaki is to come to Auckland on August 7, for final loading for London and West of England ports. On her return vovage to Honolulu, Suva, Auckland and Sydney, the Union Company's R.M.s. Niagara is scheduled to leave Vancouver to-morrow. She is due here on August 13.

After several months' idleness In the stream, the Union Company's steamer Kaiwarra is to be recommissioned. Early this afternoon she was docked for cleaning and painting, and she is to be dispatched tomorrow for Newcastle.

The Union Company's steamer Waipahi shifted this morning from the King's to the Prince's wharf to continue loading. She is to be dispatched at 3 p.m. to-morrow for Rarotonga, Aitutaki and Mangaia to load fruit for Auckland.

An expected arrival at Wellington this morning was the Huddart-Parker steamer Ulimaroa. with passengers, mails and cargo from Sydney, but at 1 p.m. she had not been reported. The Ulimaroa is scheduled to leave Wellington again for Sydney next Friday.

The explosion of a primus stove set fire to the shingle barge Tamahine last evening as she was lying at anchor in the Whau Creek, near the bridge. No one was injured, a»d the Avondale and Point Chevalier brigades put out the fire before serious damage was done.

A further radio from the Anglo Saxon Pertoleum Co.'s tanker Scalaria states that she will not now arrive from Wellington until early to-morrow morning. She is to berth at 7 a.m. to-morrow at the Western wharf, to purbp the remainder of her cargo of motor spirit from San Pedro into the Shell Co.'s tanks at Feeman's Bay.

The Federal Line steamer Northumberland, which is unloading cargo from Liverpool at Bluff, will next go to New Plymouth to complete discharge. Afterwards she will load at New Plymouth and also at Auckland, Gisborne. Waikokopu, Napier, Lyttelton, Wanganui and Wellington. She is scheduled to sail from Wellington for London, via Panama, on August 28.

To put out the balance of her cargo of coal and poles from Newcastle and Port Stephens, the Lamb steamer Omana is now to sail for Gisborne at 3 p.m. to-day. instead of to-morrow, as previously announced. From Gisborne she is to return to Auckland to load timber for Australia, completing at Hokianga and Dargaville. (Northern S.S. Co., agents.)

En route from London and Southampton to Wellington, the New Zealand Shipping Co.'s steamer Remuera is reported to have arrived at Colon on Saturday last. She left Southampton on July 6. and is due at Wellington, to land passengers, mails and part cargo, on August 11. From Wellington she is to come to Auckland about a week later, to complete discharge. Cabled advice from Suva reports the arrival at Lautoka of the Union Co.'s steamer Waikawa, en route from New Plymouth to Vancouver. She left New Plymouth on July 16. According to her schedule, she is to leave Lautoka for Vancouver on Thursday next, and will load at Pacific Coast ports for Apia, Wellington, Nelson, Melbourne and Sydney. With passengers .mails and cargo from Auckland and Wellington respectively, the Union Co.'s steamers, Marama and Maheno, were due at Sydney this morning. They are to leave there again nest Friday, the Maheno for Auckland and the Marama for Wellington, and are due at their respective ports the following Tuesday. In continuation of her voyage from London, the Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor ship Port Huon was dispatched this morning for Wellington and New Plymouth. From New Plymouth she is to go to Wanganui to commence Homeward loading, completing at Lyttelton. Napier, Waikokopu, Gisborne, and Auckland. She is scheduled to sail finally from Auckland on August IS for New York, Boston, and London. Crippled by a broken tailshaft. the Union <_o. s steamer Waitomo is adrift in the Tasman Sea. about 400 miles cflf Westport. When the accident happened she was en route from Newcastle, with a cargo of coal tor Kluff. The Kaitoke which was loading at Westport. was dispatched at 3 a.in today to bring the Waitomo to Auckland.

PORT BOWEN ARRIVED. An arrival at Auckland this morning was the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Bowen from New York. She berthed at the Queen's wharf to discharge the local portion of her cargo, the balance of which is for Wellington. Lyttelton and Dunedin. Capt. G. W. Ilearn is in command. The vessel left New York on June 23, and passed through the Panama Canai a week later. Fine weather was experienced until the vessel nearcd the New Zealand coast, when strong variable winds and high seas were encountered. Besides cargo, the Port Bowen has the following passengers : —Mr. and Mrs. Randolph and 3 children, Misses Fitf. Mera. Stephenson, Messrs Costello, Rose. (Heather, Roberton, Ltd ngents.) HUNTINGDON IN PORT. Arriving at Auckland from Liverpool yesterday morning, the Federal steamer Huntingdon (Captain F. Ashworth) berthed at the Queen's wharf to commence discharge of her general cargo to the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Companv. The cargo was loaded at Newport, Avonmouth, Glasgow, and Liverpool, and the vessel sailed from Liverpool on June 10. After a fair-weather voyage across the Atlant.c, a call was made at Newport News to replenish bunkers. Colon was reached on June 29. and Balboa was cleared the following day. The fine weather continued in the Pacific, except during the last week of the voyage, when moderate to strong north-east gales and high following seas were encountered, and assisted the vessel's progress to port. On Saturday the Huntingdon is to sail for Wellington. Lyttelton | and I'ort Chalmers to complete discharge. '
