MORE PILLAGING.
HAUL AT PURIRI WHARF,
(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, Friday. At the Magistrate's Court to-day, Robert Bruce McCowatt and Cyril Desmond Hewson, of Turua, employed as launchmen on the Waihou river, were further remanded till August 2 on a series of charges of pillaging cargo left at Puriri wharf. Sergeant McDonnell said both accused would plead guilty to the theft of cargo. A huge quantity had been recovered.
