SEAMEN'S DEMANDS.

The demands of the Seamen's Union for increased wages and improved working conditions are being discussed at a private conference between representatives of the shipping companies and the union. It is understood that proceedings will be protracted and that many of tbe union's demands are being strongly opposed.
