FIRE AT DEVONPORT.
KITCHENETTE DAMAGED.
A fire broke out at about ten o'clock last evening in a two-storeyed house in Albert Road, Devonport, owned and occupied by Mr. C. Hand. The Devonport Fire Brigade was successful in confining the flames to one portion of the house and effected a good save.
The fire started in the Jiitchenette, which is situated under the staircase,] and when the brigade arrived flames were issuing from the kitchenette win-| dow. The flames were stopped from spreading. The kitchenette was fairly extensively damaged, and that portion of the staircase immediately overhead waa charred. Minor damage was caused * n d water.
