STILL NO SIGN.
FISHING LAUNCH LOST. COAST SEARCHED. There is still no sign of the missing launch Talto, which left Whangarei on Wednesday last for Auckland. She had aboard Mr. H. Hansen, of Whangaroa, who is the owner, and Mr. A. Smith, of Auckland. It was hoped that tlie vessel was sheltering on the coast, though no report had been received from her. This morning, however Inspector J. W. Hollis received a telegram from the constable at Whangaroa stating that a thorough search of the coast over a wide area had revealed no trace of the vessel.
The Talto is a fishing launch, 30ft long, with a beam of 10ft, and is driven by a Corson engine. She has a shaped stern and outward rudder. When she left Whangaroa she carried a new mast with a mainsail and jib.
