"OUR TOM."
HEENEY'S LIFE STORY. ON SALE IN AUCKLAND. Since Tom Heeney, the New Zealander who has suddenly risen to eminence by lighting his' way to the position of challenger for the world's boxing title, has been iu the public eye in America there have been many ridiculous stories published concerning him and his life. Only last week from America came a ludicrous newspaper tale about Gisborne, the town of his birth, which was described for the benefit of the American people as a small town in New Zealand where the inhabitants produced boxers by putting up £5000 purses. In order that the real facts of Tom Heeney's life, and his steady fight up to recognition in the boxing ring, may be known to New Zealanders there has been issued a small booklet, entitled "Our Tom," in which Heeney's parents rebite the story of their now famous son. Dealing with home life, schooldays, Rugby football, his everyday work as a plumber, and his exploit* as a boxer, the booklet gives a faithful and intimate story of Tom Heeney's life, and is freely illustrated. It is on sale at the "Star" Office, the price being one shillii>£.
