IMPROVEMENT REQUESTED.
CHANGE OF NAME NEEDED.
(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON", this dav. The opinion that the name of Frankton railway station must before long be changed, was expressed by Mr. E. Casey, divisional superintendent of the North Island railways, yesterday, when replying to the requests of a deputation that the station be improved "We realise that the Frankton railway station is one of the most awkward ] in New Zealand for trains coming and going," said Mr. Casey. The deputation asked that the nuisance caused to people using the overhead bridge at Frankton should be obviated. It was suggested that the bridge should be boarded in, but Mr. A. J. Denz, on behalf of the enginedrivers opposed this, owing to the added difficulty drivers would have in seeme the signals.
Mr. Casey said the only remedy was to rebuild the bridge, but there were no funds to enable this to be done at present. It was admitted that the nuisance had been abated lately.
