ROTORUA NOTES.

A happy little dance took place on Friday night at Dixieland, given by the students of the District High School, the guests of honour being three visiting teams from Hamilton, one basketball and two football teams. Hunter's orchestra supplied excellent music, and the scene was gay with the decorations and pretty frocks. Those present were: Mrs. Ryder, Misses W. McHardy, E. Campbell, Wilson, Morton, Glenville; members of the Hamilton basketball team, L. Hemus, D. Stanford, M. Stanford, N. Peake, I. Cliffe, E. Pearson, I. Fenwick, F. Saibyj N. Gaze. Other visiters were: Misses McKenzie, J. Hockly, V. St. Clair, J. McLean, P. Wallace, N. Lee, V. Hall, O. Loccodor, V. Holland, E. Clark, P. Ryder, M. McClean, L Isdale, D. Crouch, M. J'-ertram, J. Carter, R. Steele, J. Winslade, .T. Chirm, D. Simmons, P. Prothro, J. Barber, G. Hill, C. Sharp, G. Sanders, J. Luxton, W. Steele, H. Ford, M. Lindsay, J. Watters, K. Luxton, M. Luxton, C. Wilson, R. A 500 tournament was taken part in by the grown-ups in the gallery, the winners being Mrs. Sheilds, first ladies, Mr. Hulton, first gentleman. During the evening a Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss Pat. Ryder and Mr. Trevor Griffiths. Mrs. A. L. White has returned from a trip to Auckland. Mrs. Hockley, who has been in Hamilton, has returned to Rotorua. Mrs. Guy Williams is on a visit to Rotorua. Miss Hamilton Fraser, of Auckland, is in Rotorua, where she will spend a few weeks. A most pleasing function took place last Wednesday evening in the Government tea kiosk, when Miss Elsie Winslade, A.T.C.L., gave a social evening for her pupils. Over thirty were present. Competitions of musical interest were interspersed with pianoforte solos, duets, and recitations. Mr. Eric Manson sang several humorous songs, and also played some excellent dance music, to i which the young people danced a happy evening to a close.
