The party returned yesterday. • • • • An interesting-looking person is Sureya Agha Aghlan, the only woman barrister practising in Turkey. Beeently she appeared on behalf of a man charged with murder in Angora, and was successful in securing his acquittal. # • • • Nursing has a strong appeal for Princess Arthur of Connaught, and she still continues the fine work she took up during the war. Her gentle personality brings sunshine into many of the London hospitals, in spite of public engagements which monopolise so much of her time. • • • • Miss Marjorie Alexander, of Christchurch, who is only fourteen, has been awarded the gold medal of the Associated Board of the R.A.M. and R.C.M., London, having obtained the highest honours marks in the Intermediate (>rade pianoforte playing in New Zealand, and also on the recommendation of the examiner of the Violet Ward ■rlinl a rah in. a local exhibition.
