WELCOMED.
HANDS ACROSS THE SEA. (Uj Telegraph.—l'ress Aaaoolatlon.) WELLINGTON, this day. A conference of the New Zealand ' Dental Association opened to-day. Mr. Lawrence Taylor, who presided, expressed to American visitors how much their presence was appreciated. America, he said, had long been looked upon as the home of dentistry, and many of New Zealand's most successful practitioners had graduated at American universities. Training at the Dental Colleu at Dunedin, of which they had realon to be proud, was laid down largely on the lines of American colleges. Replying, Mr. Mauk said that for the flmt time in his life he realised the meaning of the term "hands across the sift." Because of professional endeavour •nd scientific achievement there was no barrier between the countries. He extended an invitation for New Zealand dentists to be present at the Pacif"Coast conference in San Francisco i' 1920.
