DEPUTATION TO MR. HOLLAND
PROMISE OF SUPPORT. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) OPOTIKI, this day. The claims of Opotiki district for railvay connection were placed before Mr. H. E. Holland, Leader of the Opposition, shortly after his arrival in Opotiki this morning by several local citizens, who were introduced by the Mayor, Mr. G. S. Moody. Mr. Holland, in his reply, said the Labour party might be the Government later on, and they would be committed as a Government to whatever he might support now. Personally he would say that the line ought to be pushed on, and that men who were being put off should be employed. He would be prepared to support the deputation when their petition was being presented. He woui-1 like to get a meeting of liis party and would endeavour to get their support for the railway suggested. Before sending a deputation they should send a communication on the subject and he would put it before his party.
