THISTLE V. YM.CJL.
TO-MORROW'S ATTRACTIONS.
The long-looked-for meeting of Y.M.C.A. and Thistle, the two teams in the competition, who so far have suffered but one defeat, is the principal attraction at Blandford Park to-morrow afternoon. There are many who consider that Y.M.C.A. have been fortunate so far in that they met .Shore before they had their team sorted out, Tramways, when they were somewhat lucky to get through and Onehunga when the latter were off their game. By those who adopt this reasoning it is contended that Thistle will be the team to put the Y.M.C.A. to a really sound and solid test. Such a train of thought, however, is an injustice to Y.M.C.A., who have fully merited the position they occupy at the top of the table on their form and improvement this season. Thistle will find that they have probably more than they bargained for in Y.M.C.A., and he who. takes the result in any way as a foregone conclusion is likely to commit a colossal- error. A rousing game is assured. Spectators will have an opportunity of seeing the steady improvement made since the beginning of the season by Northcote and Belmont, who provide the curtain-raiser. Both teams are at the bottom of the ladder but have struggled manfully against severe handicaps. A game well worth seeing is likely to eventuate. In the interval of the second game another midget match will supply pleasant diversion for the public. Teams:— NOBTHCOTE.
