PORTLAND ROAD.
I emphatically endorse the remarks of your correspondent "Ratepayer' re the deplorable condition of Portland Road, Remuera. The very lower end, between Scherff Road and Shore Road, could also be much improved and made decidedly safer for both pedestrian and motor traffic by being widened. The widening of this portion of the road is most urgently needed. ANOTHER RATEPAYER,.
