DAIRY BOARD ELECTION.
MR. GROUNDS RETURNED.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
WELLINGTON, Tuesday.
Mr W. Grounds, chairman of the Dairy Produce Board, has been declared elected as representative of ward one.
The returning officer decided that the nomination of Mr. B. T. Booker, which arrived late, could not be accepted. It is understood that a hitch occurred in regard to the nomination of Mr. Dynes Fulton for the vacancy in ward 2 and that, to make certain he was duly nomitated, Mr. H. H. Sterling, of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, made a special journey by motor car from Hamilton to Wellington to attend to the matter personally. A question had been raised whether Mr. Fulton's proposers were registered electors. The nomination was found to be in order.
