MR. GLENN FOR RANGITIKEI.
STILL A REFORM SUPPORTER

WANGANUI, Monday.
Mr. W. S. Glenn, M.P. for Eangitikei, to-day denied that he intended to ally himself with a farmers' political movement. On the contrary, he said it was his intention to contest Rangitikei at the general election, "as a supporter of the Government, while still retaining that degree of independence to which I claim supporters of the Government or any other party are entitled." The Wanganni Seat. The Hon. A. D. McLeod visited Wanganui to-day. As he is Reform's campaign manager it was rumoured that one of his objects was to consider the selection of a candidate to oppose Mr. W. A. Veitch, M.P., who will stand on behalf of the United party. Colonel F. K. Turnbull, a barrister, is mentioned as a likely Reform candidate. Mr. W. J. Rogers, the Mayor, is most likely to be the chosen Labour ear ' date. GISBORNE SEAT. J.II!. LYSNATI AS INDEPKNDIiNT. (By Telegraph—fress Association.) GISBOi!NE, this day. Though it is generally expected that Mr. D. W. Coleman will represent the Labour interests in the forthcoming elections for the Gisborne .■•eat, thu local representation committee is formally calling nominations from affiliated unions. The suggestion that Labour may select a candidate to oppose the Hon. K. S. Williams, Minister of Public Works, has aroused mild interest, but th# representation committee is not committed to this course as yet. .Mr. W. D. Lysnar, M.P., has announced that he will be standing for the Gisborne seat as an Independent, as on former occasions.
