ROADS IN THE NORTH.
AN APPRECIATIVE RESOLUTION.
Keen appreciation of the valuable assistance given by Mr. Allen Bell in personally attending to the placing of cofintrv roading requirements before the Government was expressed by the Whangarei Council in a letter forwarded to Mr. Bell. M.P.
Speaking at the meeting at which the letter was directed to be sent, Mr. Elliott said he wished to convey the thanks of the settlers for the manner in which their roading requirements had been brought before the Public Works Department by the member. Messrs. Allen, McKay, McDonald, and the county chairman (Mr. Luke Webb) also *poke of Mr. Bell's successful efforts.
