The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated May 19, advising Smithfield delivered prices averaged for week ending that date as follow*:—

New Zealand Wethers and Maidens.— Canterbury quality, selected brands, 56's and under, 7Md; 57's to 64's, 6%d; 65's to 72's, 6%d. Other brands. 56's and under, 7d; 57's to 64's, o%d: 65's to 72's, <H4d. New Zealand ewes, 64's and under, 5%d. New Zealand Lambs —Canterbury quality, 36's and under, lOd; 37's to 42's, 9%d; 43's to 50's, B%d; seer ids. 9V4d. Selected brands, 36's and under, lOd; 37'■ to 42's, 9 s /4d. Other brands, first quality, 36's and under, 9%d; 37's to 42's, 9%d; second quality, 30's to 32's, average, 9V4d.

Argentine Lambs.—First quality, 36'b under, B%d; 37's to 42's, 7*d. New Zealand Beef. —Ox fores, 3%d; ox hinds, 5V4d; cow fores, 3%d: cow hinds, 4%d.

Argentine Chilled Beef. —Ox fores, 4%d; ox hinds, 7d.

Argentine Frozen Beef.—Ox fores, 4%d. Frozen Pork.—Porkers, 60's to 80's, 7 1 /4 d; 81's to AO's, «%d; 100's to 120's, 6%d; baconers, 121's to 180's, 7d. Lamb Market.—Very firm. Heavyweights meeting better inquiry. Mutton Market.—Firm with good demand. Home killed still remain scarce. Beef market.—There is a good demand owing to lesser supplies of 'Argentine chilled beef.

New Zealand Pigs..—Porkers: Better trade owing to colder weather. Baconera: Better inquiry owing to improvement in bacon prices.

LONDON WOOL SALES. LONDON, May 21. At the wool sales 0276 bales were offered, of which 2463 were Australian and 3095 New Zealand. There was an average selection, mostly reoffered wools. In all classes there was good general competition with prices unchanged. New Zealand's Pare, 22d to 17Hd, Hakat&ramea, 27d to 26d, Surprise Downs, 24Hd to 19ftd. At Bradford there is a slightly better undertone due to firmness in London, but business ie still limited.
