MANUREWA TOWN BOARD.

The Manurewa Town Board held it* fortnightly meeting last evening, the chairman (Mr. A. C. A. Sexton) presiding. Town Board Houses. —The clerk reported that the local agents were unable to let these houses at 2,1' per week. In the course of considerable discussion it waa agreed that this rental could not be reduced, but it was decided to advertise the houses to let, tenants to be given preference of employment should the board require labour.

Sickness Notification.—A letter was received from a ratepayer complaining that while her child was in hospital it contracted an additional serious illness, but the hospital authorities made no attempt to notify her of such. It was decided to forward the letter to the hospital authorities, suggesting the advisability of notifying parents in such cases.

Road Repairs.—lt was dt-.-ided to put in hand repairs to Grand Vile Ko.id and Halsey Road.
