PAPAROA TELEPHONE EXCHANGE.
The annual meeting of the Paparoa Tplephone Association was held on Saturday. Mr. W. B. Betts presided. ihe debit balance at bank on March 31 was £270 3/, and the actual overdraft £199. A levy of 5/ per telephone had been found necessary," producing £48 7/. The excess of assets over liabilities was stated at £1412 11/1.
The following committee was appointed for 1928-9 :—Messrs. J. B. Hill, K. Skinner, H. Cliff, E. Evans, H. H. Sutherland, E. T. Birtles, and O. C. Hames. Mr. E. G. Aickin was re-appointed auditor. At a subsequent meeting of the committee Mr. H. H. Sutherland was appointed chairman, and Mr. D. Nicholas re-appointed secretary and treasurer.
