COLD STORAGE RATES.
REDUCTIONS IN LONDON. The following cable was received "in Sydney on April 13 from the Port ,of London Authority by Captain A. W. Pearge, the Australian and New Zealand representative:— . Cold storage rates on meat reduced from April 1. Management rates 33/3 per ton, rent 1/8 per ton per day, but -not'exceeding for second period 26/6 per ton. Third and fourth months, 25/6 per ton; fifth and subsequent months', -24/3 Per ton, all net rates. Port rates additional. Quay rate unchanged. I 'Present total cost of meat from ship including month's storage: London, 35/3; Liverpool, 40/11%;. Manchester, 37/1. Export wharfage and porterage rates on general merchandise with certain exceptions reduced from May 1 by an average of nearly cent."
