DUNEDIN, this day. Losses through breakages in consignments of liquor arriving at Dunedin irom abroad are not serious, and afford no ground for any suspicion that there ® "y attempt to cover np thefts under the guise of "breakages." The Auckland prosecution, in which a magistrate said he was satisfied that there was a "very big system in which alleged breakages are nothing more or leas than straightout thefts," was mentioned to a number of those concerned in the importation and handling of liquor at the Dunedin wharves. In every instance there was aa emphatic answer that nothing of the sort takes place here,
