AEROPLANE CLUB.

STATE ASSISTANCE SOTOHT.

It was decided at a public meeting last evening to form an aeroplane elub in Whangarei. Much enthusiasm was shown by the 40 people present, who included several ladies.
Thirty-five names of persons willing to qualify as private pilots were recorded. The membership of the newclub is now fifty, and it is expected that it will be greater. Messrs. M. D. Laurenson and W. Going volunteered to act as honorary instructor and mgintfr respectively.
Hie secretary of the club this morn* ing telegraphed to the Minister of Defence an application for assistance under the recent regulations. '
