MORRINSVILLE V. MANAWARU. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) MORRIXSVILLE, this day. The final of the Piako Cricket Association competition was played at Gordon on Saturday between Manawaru and Mornnsville. and was won by the latter by a large margin. Morrinsville.—First innings 168 (Humphreys 31. Scott 27. A. Philpott 42. W J Aitken lfi Starues 20. Bodmin 15. Second innings 248 (Humphreys 153, P. S. Philpott 18, Bodmin 16, Mclntyre 15). Manawaru—First innings 127 (Scott 40, : f * Harvey 36). In their second innings Manawaru had lost eight wickets for 100 runs when stamps were drawn. Morrinsville won by 41 runs on the first innings.
Canvasses of 2500 painters were rejected hv the Autumn Salon in Paris. San Francisco has graduated from the j jay-walking class, its citizens have graduated with it, and March IT waa commencement day, with prompt arrest tor all persons who disregard the pedestrian laws against jay-walking. All violators will be haled into the Police Court, no matter what their excuses.
