CITY AND SUBURBS CLUB.
The City and Suburbs Bifte Club fired the second round of an all-grade handicap competition on Saturday, at 600 and 700 yards. Conditions were far from easy, but A. T. Patrick shot brilliantly, and now looks a certaintv for the club championship. He and G. "G. Kelly won a spoon each. A scratch teams' match against Akarana, eight men a side, was won by the City Club. Results are : — A. T. Patrick (scr), 46 at 600 yds, 45 at 700vds —total, 91; H. W. Verrall (rec. 4), 43,'39 —86; A. J. Pieterson (scr), 47, 38— So; H. J. Verrall (scr), 43, 39—52 ; R. C. Russell (scr). 40 41—81 ; G. G. Kelly (rec. 4), 36. 40—SO; C. J. M. Clark (scr), 39. 40, —79; J. A. Spry (scr), 37. 41—78; H. W. Cozens (rec. 6), 36. 35—77; L. F. Verrall (rec. 9), 40, 28—77; S. Griffiths (rec. 6), 40, 28—74; G. H. Hughes (scr), 29, 37 —66.
Trophy points now read: Porritt and Patrick, 3; Cradock, H. W. Verrall, and Pieterson, 2.
The championship scries will close at 800 and 900 yards next Saturday.
